Logistics Coordinator (Remote in the Atlanta, GA area OR Hybrid in Savannah, GA)

Job Summary:

Acting as an important member of the Operations team, the Logistics Coordinator serves as a valuable resource to existing customers by providing excellent customer service and enabling load count growth.

 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

 

Position reports to the Brokerage Manager

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides load planning, driver scheduling/appointments, and dispatch duties for in house drivers, owner operator fleet and any sub-haulers

 

Coordinate routing of import and export bookings with ocean carriers

 

Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence to customers and vendors

 

Collaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding ocean, import, and export products to strengthen service competitiveness

 

Prepare necessary shipping documentation related to international bookings and process all import/export documentation to clearing agents to include: (HAWB's, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo, Bill of Ladings, Certificate of Origin, etc.)

 

Act as liaison with Customs Brokers, Agents, Ocean Terminal Operators

 

Support quarterly metrics while obtaining, or exceeding, individual metrics

 

Provides constant communications of service issues to the facility departments

 

Utilize Portpro/Shipos system to address issues and document interaction

 

Perform other related duties, as assigned, by management

 

Adhere to established policies and procedures

 

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work in a blended operations and customer development role

 

Operations skills and experience in dispatching

 

Customer-service oriented

 

Self-motivated, assertive, and responsive

 

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize

 

MS Office skills and Email skills

 

Excellent knowledge of ocean container drayage and regulatory requirements (preferred)

 

Education and Experience:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

 

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

 

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2-3 years

 

Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in dispatch for a carrier or as a planner or analyst for another freight broker

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: PC skills (Word, Excel, PPT)

 

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

 

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working with dispatching equipment.
